InfoCards create value for ordinary Internet users, online shoppers as well as public and private service providers and businesses.

Take part in the Information Card economy

Using secure and trustworthy authentication technologies has not been a fun experience, nor has it been really user oriented. In the current state of online authentication and Internet identity management, ordinary Internet users have to struggle with unsafe passwords, phishing attempts, identity data breaches and identity theft problems that are growing beyond any proportions. Navigating between unsecure password based solutions and expensive or functionally limited enterprise & National identity solutions, Internet users need a new way to claim back their identity and form trusted relations between the parties they want to interact with, and not with spammers or online fraudsters.

To correct the situation InfoCards put you in control of your personal data in secure, phishing and identity theft resistant and privacy aware way. Businesses active in eCommerce or added value online services get better customer insight and a permanent online customer connection.

Who controls Your identity? You.

Information Cards contain information about you. There are two standard type Infocards: the cards you create (Personal Cards) and the cards you collect (Managed Cards).

Personal Cards” can contain personal information or your preferences and interests. The collectable “Managed Cards” are issued to you by online service providers like a retail web site, a government ID provider, or an anonymous "I'm over 18" proof-of-age provider service.

This symbol is the sign that InfoCards are accepted.

How does it work?

Information Cards or I-Cards are virtual cards that represent personal digital identities. They are used in online services for user authentication and identity information claims . Information Cards can be designed and created by the user and service providers that issue Managed Cards. Using the wallet and card metaphor, Information Cards are card-shaped and they carry pictures and a card name associated with it that enable people to organise and manage their digital identities and to easily select the one they want to use for the service they want.

The Information Card wallet metaphor is implemented by Identity Selectors like Windows CardSpace, Azigo and other Higgins Identity Selector services. Information Cards are stored in a secure electronic local (CardSpace) or online (Azigo/Higgins) wallet that only you can access to and see.
